Sara Maurer is a writer in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Place deeply informs her writing, particularly how it influences identity and choice. She was selected as a 2023 Suzanne M. Wilson Artist-in-Residence at the Glen Arbor Arts Center.
Her debut novel A Good Animal, which explores bodily autonomy in an agricultural setting, is forthcoming from St. Martin’s Press in 2026.
